training centers for the 2016
Olympics, Clearwater recently
hosted the Youth World RS:X
Clearwater Community Sailing
is a place to learn and play.
Group and individual lessons are offered.
Rentals of prams, kayaks, sunfish,
Hobie Waves & Getaways,
paddleboards and more
are available. Also, it is the
site of filming for the 2016

on your skills and knowledge, you can
captain your own vessel or ride the
waves as a passenger.

there are over 10 artificial inshore
and offshore reefs along the
coast, grab your gear and explore.
Discover the former Coast Guard
Cutter Blackthorn, several tugboats
(one is 100 years old), a shrimp boat, World
War II tanks and more. Snorkeling reefs are
located closer to shore.
John’s Pass Historic Fishing
Village and Boardwalk
is a destination
with shops, restaurants, entertainment and
offering fishing charters,
cruises and boat rentals.
