Palm Harbor

has a great reputation and there

are number of communities to choose from. One of

these is

East Lake

, located on the eastern side of

Lake Tarpon. It is bordered by the 8,000 acre Brooker

Creek Preserve which gives it a distinct “country”

feel. Several smaller communities make up this

area including East Lake Woodlands, Lansbrook,

Ridgemoor, Woodfield, Boot Ranch and Tarpon

Woods. Local shopping centers add convenience to

the other amenities and with schools being the #1

reason for moving to Palm Harbor, the majority of

those moving here are families with kids ranging

from ages 4-16.

is a quaint waterfront community located

at the western end of Tampa Road. It is actually

older than Palm Harbor and originated as a small

fishing village. Ozona boasts several excellent

seafood restaurants and is an eclectic mixture of

stately mansions and cozy beach cottages.

Located north of Ozona lies

Crystal Beach

another tranquil gulf side community which also

originated as a fishing village. It features towering

palm trees and majestic oaks that overlook quiet

streets. The Pinellas Trail traverses the town making

it an ideal spot to walk or bicycle. Crystal Beach

is comprised of older homes as well as more

modern residences.

“Boating, golfing and parks make Palm Harbor

the perfect destination to reside or vacation,” said

Pam Cohn, Berkshire Hathaway. “As real estate

consultant, I live and breathe Palm Harbor real

estate. What I see in our current market are

steady sales and a tight inventory of homes. Good

properties move quickly, so buyers need to have

their financing ready. Sellers in the area are enjoying

a sound market where relatively low interest rates

make buying very attractive.”

“The real estate market has been very active in

Palm Harbor which means that there have been

more buyer’s looking to purchase homes than

there are available homes on the market,” said Kim

Adams, Re/Max. “The type of home that is most

often requested is a 3 bedroom, 2 -bath, 2 car garage

residential home with a pool that is move-in ready;

those sell right away.”

According to Adams, a wide range of people are

seeking homes in the Palm Harbor area because

there is so much to do and see here and because it

so affordable compared to so many other areas in

the country.

Numerous Places to Call Home

There is so much about the

greater Palm Harbor area

that entices people to move

here and stay here. “Palm

Harbor, Ozona and Crystal

Beach are some of the best

kept secrets in West Central,

Florida,” said Drew Valk,

Re/Max Realtec Group.

Award-winning beaches

along with the beautiful

barrier islands and gorgeous

sunsets make this area a

great place to raise a

family or retire.
