The Lifestyle of Tamarac... An Award-Winning City

An oasis amidst busy Broward County, Tamarac is a neighborhood community blossoming by the day. While the city was once known as a retirement community, more young families and business professionals are finding its small town atmosphere and fantastic location attractive. No matter where you are in Tamarac, you're close to everything. Shopping, parks, business services...are all only minutes away. Within a short driving distance you'll find world-renowned fishing, beaches, yachting, scuba diving and theme parks. Tamarac is also the recipient of several awards. One of its delightful characteristics is its use of trees to beautify medians, increase shade and enhance their parks. The city earned the 2005 National Arbor Day Foundation's annual "Tree City USA" for the thirteenth time. Tamarace is also one of only seven cities in the nation chosen for honors by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging (AoA). The city received the 2005 "Livable Communities for All Ages" award for "model efforts to make communities more supportive places to live for seniors and all populations."
