The

Palm Harbor Historical Society

has

been a fixture of the community since 1983. The

society acquired the Harley House in 1996 and

opened its doors as the Palm Harbor Museum

in November 1988 and recently hosted a Grand

Reopening in February 2017 to display some

major renovations and changes to the museum.

Admission is free to museum members and $3 for

visitors. New events such as the monthly (First

Friday) “Meet me at the Museum” event have

been added in conjunction with the re-opening,

so if you have not visited the museum lately, be

sure to visit

www.palmharbormuseum.com

for

the latest information.

Since 2011, the

Tampa Bay Performing

Arts Academy

has been offering children

as young as three years old up to age 17 the

opportunity to learn musical theatre, including

dance and voice. Instructors with professional

backgrounds teach the classes and the students

perform several musical productions each year.

Executive Director, Sandy Faulkner explains some

of the concepts that make the Academy stand

out from similar schools.

“We are one of the only places in the

Tampa Bay area that produces shows with an

entirely young cast,” said Faulkner. “Every

student that is accepted into a class performs

in the production. We go the extra mile in our

auditions to avoid favoritism, and we encourage

outside professionals and community leaders

and members to be part of our audition

judging panel.”

The most recent cultural addition to the Palm

Harbor area is the

Palm Harbor Playhouse

,

affiliated with the Academy. Located at 35157 US

19 just south of Alderman Road, the Playhouse

offers children’s performances, parent’s night

out events and stand-up comedy. To find out the

next scheduled event, visit

or

Whether a true

beginner with no experience or a student with

years of performance experience, the Palm Harbor

Playhouse opened to provide an opportunity

for area children to share their talent on a

community stage.

The

Leepa-Ratner Museum of Arts

located

at the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg

College houses a large collection of works by such

well-known artists as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall

and Henry Moore. Past exhibits have included

watercolors and prints by Florida artists. To find

out more about the museum go to

www.leeparatner.com.

The

Dunedin Fine Arts Center

offers

classes for children and adults in various genre,

including photography, sculpture, painting, digital

imaging and jewelry. The Center also hosts

exhibits, workshops and special events.
